The story could be mine. The story could be yours. The story lies amongst the never ending saga of humanly emotions. The story is “Bedroom”.

A fresh addition to the list of Tollywood films, inspired by the ‘wind of change”; that is how you can describe it in one single sentence. If you go deeper, probably even number of words won’t be sufficient! The story starts (and ends as well) seven characters.  Abir & Paoli make a married couple together; and Parno Mitra –Rahul together make another couple, pursuing a live-in relationship. Both the relationships are at stake. While Paoli’s daddy is somehow repentant as he thinks his daughter could get a better groom, a strange coldness takes over the affair of Rahul & Parno. Rahul, being an aspiring “actor” keeps trying his luck and keeps flunking as well. Parno, being the financer of their entire living, gets more and more frustrated, with each fight she has with her man, with each challenge she faces in her professional field. That’s when Rahul meets Tanushree, playing the role of a call girl. On the other side, Abir-Paoli bond takes a quick twist. Abir loses his job due to recession; Paoli meets her “once upon a time” love. Rudranil, who is friend with both Abir and Rahul, falls in love with a page 3 journalist(Ushasie), something that he thought he never would!  What happens after that? Do they follow the way life shows them? Or they take life the way they want to? If you are eager to know, you got to watch it out!!

 

Acting, in ‘Bedroom’ has been a tough job. Because, it has been a story where acting has needed to come real. That’s where all the actors have accomplished a splendid job. Rahul  ( without Priyanka ;) ) has succeeded to give himself a wonderful make over; ‘Wonderful’ has been used here, as probably it’s not that easy a job to make yourself look like a looser, while acting successful is easier! Abir with his sugar coated expression, which still make his female fans go “aww” over him, has done a good job as well, in fact a “very good job” as it may seem at times! Tanushree, after being the heart stealer in “Uro chithi”, almost had it like a challenge, to depict the character of a call girl, which she has won. However, the two best in the lot are Rudranil and Ushasie, both of whom do not have anything new to prove to the audience. Still, it’s tough to make something completely flawless, in this mortal world. If there’s one point which would not satisfy the viewer on whole, then it’s the music part. Although, best effort has been made by Rupam Islam and friends.

Two questions remain unanswered yet. Firstly, what makes the movie stand different from others? Secondly, what’s the underlying behind the name “Bedroom’?  The first one could have only one answer. The compactness of the story. A film becomes a film, when it exceeds the limitations of being a film and makes you feel “O my god! That could be my story too!”. A film is a film when it extracts its plots from the people around us, the incidents around us. Bedroom does both the jobs splendid.  All the things that happen are tied together in such an expertise manner that you would not find one single hole to distract your attention. And well, speaking about the name! after a day full of Hurly burly, full of smile and sadness, full of success and failure, It’s your bedroom that you head towards. It’s your bedroom that witnesses all your inner feelings, in the most transparent way possible. It’s your bedroom, that stands silently with four walls when you cry out, laugh out, or may be..you are silent too.

Love, care, concern, relationship. Words which can make, and break as well. For a girl who surrendered her body to many but heart to none, love becomes a call for death. For a man who had never in love before, love comes like a crimson dream, and fades away too. One relationship that could happen, does not achieve a shape & one relationship that was about to break, manages to survive.
