Q. Ranjana Ami Aar Ashbona is superhit- how you are feeling?

Feeling good my debut film being super hit. Ranjana is a different and a unique kind of film. This type of film was not done earlier. So for this an unequal expectation was there. But now this is completely a super hit, so feeling great. I am enjoying the whole matter ecstatically.

Q.  You have played the title role. How the offer came?

Last year after Durga puja Anjan Da called me. After hearing the script I thought he decided me for other role. I had never expected that he decided me as Ranjana. I was thrilled after knowing this.

Q. The song is super hit. That Ranjana Ami Aar Ashbona- full of nostalgic elements.

But the song is completely different that of the film.

Q. No but relating with the title of the film many are reaching their end of school or college life when days were spent with ranjanas.

These songs are of my child hood days. Young boys used to play ranjana, bela bose through guitar during their adda sessions in our locality. When girl friends got married then bela bose used to receive priority and Anjan da’s Ranjana is all time super hit.

Q. So when Anjan Dutt made film on that name, Parna Mitra became that Ranjana…

Yup, thinking on this gives a good feel.

Q. So what’s ranjanas next plan-which kind of film you would be doing?

What does that mean?

Q. The question is do you want to do films like Paglu , Shatru or multiplex movie like Ranjana or

I will be doing the roles which I will think that I can do. I will be working there where I will get the scope of acting.

Q. So is there that kind of work now?

Recently I completed the work of Mainak Bhoumick’s film Bedroom. Interaction is going on for some of the films. After it gets fixed all will get to know.

Q. Recently there is Durga Puja, how you spent these days?

In my childhood days during puja my father used to buy me balloons. During puja I don’t use to hop pandal to pandal. To me puja means Saltlakes FD Block, Karunamayi. Functions were held in our puja. I used to dance on that in my childhood. Now I miss all these. This function is not performed now. In Saltlake, Pujas are crowdy. That fun is not utilized now a day. Sometimes I wish to spent puja outside Kolkata but again my heart does not want to leave Kolkata till the end.
